I was
recently asked a question… and it sparked something in my spirit,
I had to talk about it! This is something many don't want to talk
about, because this is something happening within the church.
Being single and saved after forty.
This is
my story. I met my husband in a bar and boy could he dance. He was
so good looking and I thought all that was just for me. However,
things soon changed and became out of control, He begin wanting to
go out and do things without me. People began to talk and tell me
all sorts of things about him and what he was doing when I was not
around. By now you should know that neither one of us were saved.
This union lasted for maybe a year or so and after that, there were
other men that came into my life.
After
making many wrong choices, I decided to live for the Lord and love
Him better then all things, and give Him my heart. I knew that
if I waited on the Lord, the mate that He has for me would show up.
Ladies and Gentleman! Let me open your eyes to one of the hardest
things I’ve had to endure, being saved. The Christian walk in it's
self is a challenge, baby but to be saved, single, and over
forty… well let's just say it's been a climb up the mountain
(thank you Lord).
I try to go to church on
a regular basis (truth). Every time the doors open behind me and a
new man walks in, my mind is saying could that be him. Maybe
you are a man waiting on God to send you a save woman and you know
you are saying the same thing… is she single, could that be
her....you know what I’m saying, we are looking but not wanting to
sin. We make indirect eye contact by looking out of every comer of
our eyes, still waiting and wondering, is this the person. As I
said earlier, we are climbing up the mountain!
It's hard being patient when we as a
people were born onto sin and lord... if we weren't raised in a
Spirit filled home we mostly did what we wanted until we knew
better. Today we do know better and the Word of God says in Psalm
37-4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give
thee the desires of thine heart. As Christians, this is what we
believe so let's continue to stand on His Word and wait... in the
name of Jesus Amen.
